Our Mission
Our mission is to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated and comprehensive systems of personnel development (CSPD) for the early childhood workforce serving infants and young children with disabilities eligible for Part C and Part B(619) programs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Knowledge Generation
ECPC generates new knowledge through literature syntheses, analyses and alignment of early childhood (EC) personnel standards.
This has generated 50+ regional & national presentations plus production of 4+ literature syntheses & data reports.
Leadership and Coordination
ECPC provides leadership training to select states to integrate EC personnel, programs, and policies into state early childhood initiatives.
ECPC is currently providing leadership training to 14 states as of 2017 and has reached 25 states total since 2013.
Technical Assistance
ECPC provides intensive TA using evidence-based practices to support states in developing and implementing an EC CSPD.
ECPC has assisted 4 states in implementing their CSPDs and is currently providing intensive TA to 8 more.

ECPC is presenting at the 2017 OSEP Leadership Conference!
OSEP Leadership Conference

On July 17-19, 2017, ECPC Director Dr. Mary Beth Bruder will be traveling to Washington D.C. to present at the 2017 U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Program’s (OSEP) Leadership Conference. This conference enhances leadership roles through opportunities to hear from experts in the field and to learn about evidence-based practices that will support participants’ ability to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities and their families.
The ECPC will be presenting on the following topics:

  • Early Childhood Personnel Systems: The CSPD Process
  • Building Early Childhood Leadership Capacity

Upcoming ECPC Cross-Cohort Institute – September 2017
AOF conference

The ECPC is excited to announce that our first Leadership & Intensive TA Cross-Cohort Institute will occurring from September 17 – 20, 2017 at the Avon Old Farms Hotel in Avon, CT! This Institute, open to only the 31 current or previous States who have received TA from ECPC, will focus on sustainability of leadership competence and the integration of early childhood programs that serve all children. States will have the opportunity to learn new knowledge and skills and share what they have learned with their colleagues from across the country.
