Gerri Hanna has worked in the early childhood field for twenty-one years and currently serves as a TA and Leadership Consultant on the ECPC project. Early in her career, she provided service coordination services in early intervention and taught in inclusive preschool classrooms. Her passion for disability rights led her to Washington DC where she held positions at TASH and Alexander Graham Bell for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, advocating for child and adult services on Capitol Hill under the ADA and IDEA. She served at UConn UCEDD in 1997 for three years as the Early Intervention Specialist Coordinator, returning in 2013 as Administrative Manager/Assistant Director, supporting administrative and programmatic aspects of UCEDD’s programs and projects. She recently returned to the US Virgin Islands where she lived and worked for four years, 2008 to 2010 as the Assistant Director of VI UCEDD continuing to advocate for adult and children initiatives and 2010-2012 as the Director of Quality Services, VI Dept. of Health and Human Services in the implementation of new childcare licensing regulations and the development of a QRIS.
Mrs. Hanna provides Intensive Technical Assistance to Puerto Rico.
