Early Childhood Personnel Center Coordinator | University of Connecticut
Jessica McKenty joined the UConn Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) as an Administrative Program Coordinator in September 2016, primarily responsible for the oversight and management of the Early Childhood Personnel Center (ECPC). Jessica has been a prominent and passionate advocate in the Disabilities Rights Movement for over 8 years, focusing particularly on advocating for education, employment and social inclusion of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Jessica has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and management of programs and events that foster growth and sustainability of the mission at hand. Prior to her arrival at UCEDD, Jessica served as the Connecticut Program Supervisor of Best Buddies International, overseeing the management of 5 state-wide programs in both school and community environments that encompassed over 3,000 individuals with and without disabilities. Within this role, Jessica rose the status of CT’s programs to nationally ranked levels, spear-headed committees that collaborated with numerous states to develop and execute curriculum for national student trainings, events, and program initiatives, and assisted with state fundraising & grant and government reporting management.
Jessica is a member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and a founding Board Member of the Best Buddies International Alumni Association. Jessica received her B.S. in Medical Studies from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA and began her career as a Personal Support Provider for those with disabilities. She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Nonprofit Management & Philanthropy at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, MA.
