Mary Beth Bruder, Ph.D.

Mary Beth Bruder, Ph.D. is professor of Community Medicine and Health Promotion, Pediatrics, and Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut where she directs the A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) and the Leadership Program in Neurodevelopmental and Other Disabilities (CT LEND). She has been in the field of early childhood intervention for 43 years, and has directed over 80 federal and state research, demonstration and training grants and contracts. Her primary research interests focus on capacity building of qualified and effective personnel, at both the individual and systems level. In particular, she is involved in the development of inclusive early childhood settings and systems and the implementation of strength-based family engagement practices. Dr. Bruder is the editor of Infants & Young Children and is a board member of the International Society on Early Intervention.
