Bachelor's degree or higher. 3. Recommendation of the preparing institution 4. Six semester hours or nine (9) quarter hours of credit taken within the past five years 5. Three (3) semester hours of approved Alaska studies and three (3) semester hours of multicultural education/cross-cultural communications. Additional requirements for an Audiology endorsement: applicant must hold either a master's degree or higher with a major emphasis in audiology, or possess certification of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In addition, the applicant must be recommended for endorsement by an institution with a program approved by NCATE or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. |

Licensure Require Specific Field or Clinical Work? | Must complete a minimum of 400 clock hours of supervised clinical experience in the practice of speech-language pathology. Twenty-five hours must be spent in clinical observation, and 375 hours must be spent in direct client/patient contact. At least 325 of the 400 clock hours must be completed while the applicant is engaged in graduate study in a program accredited in speech-language pathology by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Implementation: A minimum of 325 clock hours of clinical practicum must be completed at the graduate level. For endorsement in speech, language, or hearing, you must hold either a master's degree or higher with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech-language and hearing science; or possess certification of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
