SEA Credential: 1. Also requires at least a 600-hour internship with school-age students (of which at least 300 must be in a school setting under the supervision of a person holding a Michigan school psychologist credential). 2. School Psychologist Certificate: Requires a valid Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate and a specialist degree or equivalent in school psychology from an institution with an approved program. It also requires an additional minimum of 15 graduate semester hours in school psychology, including an internship, in addition to the 45 credit hours required for the preliminary certificate. In addition to the 600 clock hours required for the preliminary certificate, a minimum 600-clock-hour supervised internship is required with school-age pupils in an approved school psychologist program, 300 clock hours of which shall be in a school setting. The NCSP is accepted as a route to obtain this credential. |
