Applicants shall complete at least 350 hours of supervised clinical practicum that concerns the evaluation and treatment of children and adults with disorders of speech, language, and hearing; 2. At least 250 hours of the supervised clinical practicum shall be completed in audiology. The requirement may also be fulfilled by part-time clinical experience as follows: a. An average of at least 15-19 hours per week over 18 months; or b. An average of at least 20-24 hours per week over 15 months; or c. An average of at least 25-29 hours per week over 12 months.
Licensure Dependent on an Exam? Each audiologist applicant shall pass a written national examination in audiology administered by any of the following: (1) Education Testing Services of Princeton, New Jersey, 170; (2) American Academy of Dispensing Audiology, (3) Audiology Foundation of America; (4) American Academy of Audiology, and (5) American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Licensure Require Specific Field or Clinical Work? The applicant shall have completed at least a one-year practicum/internship supervised by an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) approved supervisor prior to the completion of the master's degree. This experience shall total a minimum of 300 hours of face-to-face client contact hours with individuals, couples, and families for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. At least half of these client contact hours shall have been completed with couples and families.

  3. Orientation of program faculty and nursing staff serving in the roles of nurse clinical educator, clinical teacher, or preceptor/practicum facilitator to the educational program’s philosophy, objectives and purposes;
  4. Regularly scheduled discussion regarding learning experiences that include, but are not limited to, clinical conferences, formal meetings, and phone conferences;
  5. Awareness of and adherence to policies that address role and responsibilities of student, clinical teacher, and preceptor/practicum facilitator; and
  6. An evaluation process of the learning experience that addresses student learning at the conclusion of each experience;
Additional requirements for clinical experiences and assignments shall include:
  1. No more than 2 students shall be assigned to a registered nurse preceptor;
  2. Regular communication regarding student progress shall occur between an assigned registered nurse preceptor, student and program faculty member responsible for oversight of the clinical experience;
  3. Clinical preceptors shall have an unencumbered license to practice as a nurse at or above the level for which the student is being prepared, in the jurisdiction where the clinical experience is being conducted; and

1. Jurisprudence Examination The examination shall be:
(1) Taken at home using pen and paper or if available electronically taken on a secure web site provided to the applicant by the physical therapy governing board;
(2) Open book; and
(3) Consist of 20 questions.
An individual shall achieve a passing score of at least 80 percent or at least 16 correct answers.
2. Have taken and passed the national physical therapy examination developed by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy to test entry-level competence for physical therapists, 600.
Licensure Dependent on an Exam?
I. The office shall conduct, through a third party, examinations within the state at least quarterly. The passing score shall be determined by the board.
II. A physical therapist applicant may take the examination for licensure after the application process has been completed with the exception of submission of documentation showing the applicant has passed the required examination. A national physical therapy exam shall test competency related to physical therapy theory, examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment intervention, prevention, and consultation.
III. A physical therapist assistant applicant may take the examination for licensure after the application process has been completed with the exception of submission of documentation showing the applicant has passed the required examination. A national examination shall test for requisite knowledge and skills in the technical application of physical therapy services.
IV. An applicant for licensure who does not pass the examination after the first attempt may retake the examination 3 additional times. An applicant shall not retake the examination a fourth time unless:
(a) The applicant has completed a new application for licensure, with the exception of submission of documentation showing that the applicant has passed the examination.
(b) The applicant has submitted, and the board has approved, a plan for completion of additional clinical training or coursework or both.

(d) Applicants shall have instruction in: (1) Scientific and professional ethics and standards; (2) Research design and methodology; (3) Statistics, (4) Psychometrics, (5) Psychotherapy techniques; and (6) Addictive behavior. (e) At least 24 semester hours or 36-quarter hours of course work shall include a minimum of 3 or more graduate semester hours, 5 or more graduate quarter hours, in each of the following content areas: (1) Biological and chemical bases of behavior including a. Physiological psychology; b. Comparative psychology; c. Neuropsychology; d. Sensation and perception; and e. Psychopharmacology. (2) Cognitive-affective bases of behavior including a. Learning; b. Thinking; c. Motivation; and d. Emotion. (3) Social bases of behavior including a. Social psychology; b. Group processes; c. Organization and systems theory; and d. Cultural diversity. (4) Individual differences including a. Personality theory; b. Human development; and c. Abnormal psychology.
Licensure Require Specific Field or Clinical Work? (a) Applicants shall have completed at least 2 years of supervised clinical experience in that area of psychology in which they plan to practice. (b) A year of supervised clinical experience shall include not less than 1500 clock hours, to have been completed within not less than 12 and not more than 24 consecutive calendar months. (c) Each supervisor shall be licensed in the state where the supervision takes place. (d) Acceptable clinical supervised experience shall include direct, formal contact with a senior person who is responsible for the educational development and guidance of the supervisee. (e) Supervision shall occur on-site where the applicant delivers services, and be provided by someone who is familiar with the applicant's work; (f) Supervised experience shall not include classwork, practicum experience, or other course-related experiences. (g) Supervised experience shall not begin until the applicant has completed 2 academic years of full-time graduate training in psychology. (h) Independent private practice shall not be considered acceptable supervised professional experience. (i) Supervisors shall not have a dual relationship with the supervisee, such as a spouse, close relative, or therapist. (j) The first year of clinical supervised experience shall occur as a formal internship. (k) The internship shall: (1) Be from an APA approved internship program; or (2) Be an organized training program that shall: a. Be designed to provide the intern with a planned, programmed sequence of training experiences; b. Have a clearly designated staff psychologist who is responsible for the integrity and quality of the training program and is licensed as a psychologist by a state board of examiners in psychology; c. Have 2 or more psychologists on the staff as supervisors, at least one of who was actively licensed as a psychologist by a state board of examiners in psychology; d. Provide internship supervision by a staff member or by an affiliate of that agency who carried clinical responsibility for the cases being supervised; e. Provide internship supervision where at least half of the supervision was provided by one or more psychologists; f. Provide training in a range of assessment and treatment activities conducted directly with patients seeking health services; g. Provide 25% of the trainee's time in direct patient contact a minimum of 375 hours; h. Be a minimum of 1500 hours completed within 24 months; i. Provide a minimum of 2 hours per week, regardless of whether the internship was completed in one year or 2, of regularly scheduled, formal, face-to-face individual supervision with the specific intent of dealing with health services rendered directly by the intern; j. Provide at least 2 hours per week in learning activities. k. Have a minimum of 2 interns at the internship levels of training during the applicant's training period; l. Provide the trainee with a title such as 'intern', 'resident', 'fellow' or other designation of trainee status; and m. Have a written statement or brochure which: 1. Describes the goals and content of the internship; 2. States clear expectations for quantity and quality of trainee's work; and 3. Is made available to prospective interns. (l) The second year of supervised experience shall follow the internship year subject to the following: (1) The second year of experience shall follow the internship and may be completed prior to receiving the doctoral degree; (2) Trainee title shall not be required for the second year of supervision; (3) The second year of supervision shall be supervision of the applicant's direct health service in psychology provided to individuals or groups of patients/clients; and (4) The second year of supervision shall consist of one hour per week of face-to-face clinical supervision for a total of 50 hours.
Licensure Dependent on an Exam? 1. All applicants for licensure shall pass the Examination for the Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP) and the written essays designated in NHP 301.04 (j)(1)-(6). (a) The passing score on the pen and pencil EPPP shall be 70%. (b) The passing score on the computerized EPPP shall be a scaled score of 500. 2. Essay exam.

(d) The 30 semester hours or 48-quarter hours shall be from at least 5 of the following areas of study: (1) Theories of personality development, ego psychology, object relations, human behavior, and social environment; (2) Methods of casework or clinical interventions, social work practice, direct practice, (3) Theories of cross-cultural development, and race relations; (4) Marriage and family dynamics, family systems, and therapy with children; (5) Group behavior and dynamics; (6) Theories of psychopathology, adaptive, and maladaptive functioning; (7) Chemical dependency and substance abuse; (8) Research methods, including policy practice evaluation; and (9) Internship in a clinical setting; field placement.
Licensure Require Specific Field or Clinical Work?
(a) Applicants shall have completed at least 2 years of post-bachelors supervised work experience in a mental health or social service setting as required by Mhp 307.01(d).
(b) The supervision shall have provided for a minimum of one hour per week of individual face-to-face supervision between the supervisor and the applicant for a total of 100 hours.
(c) Acceptable supervised experience shall require direct contact with a supervisor who is responsible for the professional development and guidance of the supervisee and is familiar with the supervisee’s work and organizational setting.
(d) Supervision shall be provided by a licensed clinical social worker, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed mental health counselor, or licensed pastoral physiotherapist.
(e) The supervisor shall be licensed in the state where the supervision takes place.
(f) The supervision shall be conducted in the physical presence or via a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant synchronous virtual presence.
(g) Supervised experience shall not include class work, practicum experience, or other course related experiences.
(h) The supervisor shall not have a dual relationship with the applicant which may impair their objectivity as described in Mhp 501.02(c).
(i) A 1099 employee of an independent private practice shall not be considered an acceptable supervised professional experience.
Licensure Dependent on an Exam? Acceptable evidence of a passing score on the ASWB bachelor’s level examination shall be written verification sent directly to the board’s office from the ASWB.

Licensure Specific Curriculum/Coursework Specialist-level programs shall consist of a full-time, or it's equivalent in a part-time, coordinated sequence of specifically focused study at the graduate level, culminating in at least a master's Degree. The program shall include at least 60 graduate semester hours or the equivalent, at least 54 hours of which shall be exclusive of credit for the supervised internship experience. A candidate for certification as a school social worker shall have the following skills, competencies, and knowledge through a combination of academic experiences and demonstrated competency in the following areas: (1) consultation, the knowledge, understanding, and ability to consult about the following: a. Child development and biological factors that affect students' ability to function effectively in educational settings; b. How to emphasize students' strengths and protective factors in ways that enhance educational success; c. Issues that impact students' abilities to optimize their educational opportunities. d. The rights of people with disabilities; e. The effects of increasing social, economic, and academic pressures on children and youth; f. The value of school social work interventions; and g. The development of plans relevant to concerns in student referrals, including goals, objectives, and interventions to achieve desired outcomes; (2) ethical and professional practice; a. Ability to demonstrate commitment to the values and ethics of the social work profession; b. Ability to function as a professional school social worker in individual work with students and on an interdisciplinary team for the benefit of students; c. Skill in safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of information; d. Ability to apply the NASW Code of Ethics 1999 as it applies to school social work expectations and responsibilities; e. Ability to resolve conflicts that arise among competing expectations thorough knowledge of and compliance with current state and federal laws, rules, local policies, and the ethical principles section, as set forth in the NASW Standards for School Social Work Services 2002, as they apply to the implementation of social work services in a school setting; (3) planning, coordination, and implementation of social work services consistent with success in a school setting; (4) working in the school environment to intervene and facilitate student success; (5) knowledge and understanding of educational systems and its application to effective practice: (6) research, assessment, and evaluation relating to program and practice.

Licensure Require Specific Field or Clinical Work? Completion within such educational program of a. At least 25 clock hours of supervised clinical observation: Concerning the evaluation and treatment of children and adults with disorders of speech, language, or hearing, and Under the direct supervision of a supervisor holding a valid certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology; and b. At least 375 clock hours of supervised clinical practice: Approved by the institution providing the educational program; and Including direct evaluation and treatment of clients with speech, language, or hearing disorders.
Licensure Dependent on an Exam? The speech-language pathology examination that is part of the Praxis series administered by the Educational Testing Service, a score of at least 600.
Additional requirements specific for schools? Speech-language specialists: Age range is 3-Grade 12. These are professional employees of a school district and must be certified as educators. An SLP license will be considered to meet the requirements. If not, this is a license + endorsement (need an initial educator license + educational specialist endorsement). The requirements are 1. Completion of an approved program of professional preparation in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders; or completion of a comparable program outside of New Hampshire; or individualized Professional Development Plan, which must include completion of a Master's degree in communications disorders. 2. Initial certification requires passing the PRAXIS I pre-professional skills test (PPST) and PRAXIS II, if applicable. The State Board has approved a composite score option for PRAXIS I. Candidates must have an overall score of 518 or higher and a minimum passing score of 172 for Reading; 170 for Writing; and 170 for Mathematics.

Licensure Dependent on an Exam? Initial certification requires passing the PRAXIS I pre-professional skills test (PPST). The State Board has approved a composite score option for PRAXIS I. Candidates must have an overall score of 518 or higher and a minimum passing score of 172 for Reading; 170 for Writing; and 170 for Mathematics.
Alternative Route Provisional or temporary The alternative route (all components A, B, & C) is a certification process designed for candidates who have gained the competencies, skills, and knowledge other than the traditional preparation programs. Alternative A is a process that includes both written examination and oral review (portfolio). Alternative B is a process that recognizes National or regional licensure. Alternative C is a process that allows for transcript analysis for administrator certification. Alternative A, submit the following: (1) completed application; (2) letter of intent from the candidate; (3) official college transcripts; (4) employer verification of 3 months full time teaching. Upon receipt of these items detailed procedures and list of additional materials required will be mailed to you if you qualify. The non-refundable $300.00 processing fee for Alternative A is due at the time of submission of the additional required materials. Alternative B, submit the following: (1) completed application; (2) copy of National or Regional licensure; (3) official college transcripts; (4) $130.00 certification fee for initial certification, or $20.00 if adding an endorsement to an existing New Hampshire credential. Alternative C (transcript analysis for administrative areas only), submit the following: (1) application; (2) official college transcripts; (3) $130.00 certification fee for initial certification, or $20.00 if adding an endorsement to an existing New Hampshire credential.
